Disney - Day 6

This was a day that was really great, but just felt off...

We had the best preperation so far the night before.  All the clothes were laid out, lunches packed, camera charged, towels and suits ready...and we even left on time.  But, then we had a snafu with which bus stop to be at...THEN WE LEFT MICKEY AT THE BUS STOP...

But, we got back to the stop and found him!  A HUGE thanks goes out to the unknown guest who turned him into the staff member at the bus station.  The fun part about the bus system at WDW is there is no printed schedule you can get.  There are routes that are set in stone.....then there are routes that are more.....flexible.  We are trying to save the $14 per day parking fee at the theme parks, and park at the water parks or downtown disney, which is free.

We then catch a shuttle to a major resort, then catch a different shuttle to the theme park.  It has worked well up to this point....but today....it didn't.  The trick is to know which shuttles leave from which bus stops, and with no printed schedules, it makes it a bit tricky....especially since we are switching parks every two days.  Today, the places we ended up didn't have the shuttles we needed.  But, we got through it, and Erin even got a surprise at the end of the day!!!

Hollywood Studios is another great Disney park.  However, both Jen and I noticed it didn't have the exact precision that the Magic Kingdom had.  The rides were great.  We saw a Beauty and the Beast show, rode a 3D Star Wars ride that was GREAT, rode the Great Movie Ride, saw a Little Mermaid show, Erin and I did the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror (where we dropped 13 stories at random).

The Wizard of Oz Section of the Great Movie Ride

The Little Mermaid Show

We also got to see a Parade!!

Erin got a Mickey shaped Ice Cream

And....Erin was an official Pin Trader of the Day!!

After many detours and wrong bus stops...we finally ended up back at Downtown Disney.  Jen and Erin checked out the pin trading.  At the guest services desk (which has a secret pin book), Erin was asked to be the Pin Trader of the Day.  Each day, they pick one child to help them as they trade pins.  Erin was picked because she was so knowledgeable and careful with the pins.  She got a badge and a certificate.

It was a great ending to a great day....that just felt off due to the bus issues...and not doing what we had planned.  Seeing Erin's smile as she put on her badge reminded us not to worry too much about the schedules and buses, but just to enjoy each moment we have together.  As my neighbor told me when we brought Erin home from the hospital, "We don't have kids, we rent them.  Enjoy them while you can."  Good advice....
