Disney - Day 5

We decided that we would sleep in this morning.  The only problem was we forgot to tell Erin, who was up at the crack of dawn as usual.  It did give us a chance to straighten up around the RV, and get some things put away.  Erin watched a Little Mermaid movie while Jen and I had coffee and relaxed.

We got rolling and hit Typhoon Lagoon about 1pm.  It has one of the largest wave pools in the world.  Erin loved it.  She has become a big fan of wave pools.  Our summer swim team took a trip to Schlitterbahn - Galveston this summer.  Erin, me, and Coach Mark Babich must have gone around the lazy river/wave pool 50 times!!  Thanks Mark for being a good sport!!!

The Wave Pool at Typhoon Lagoon

It rained about half of the time we were at the park, but they never shut it down.  We played in the wave pool, rode tube rides and slides, but the really cool thing was swimming with sharks!  You get a mask and snorkel, and hop in a shark tank.  Granted.....they are very small baby sharks....but they are sharks!!

It is a very cool attraction.  You slowly swim about 20 yards along one side of a wrecked ship.  The other side is for the longer tours (which cost $20 for 30 minutes....not too bad).  There are about 2000 fish in the tank, including bonnet sharks (which look like hammer heads), leopard sharks and stingrays.  Erin did it, but had trouble with her snorkel.  I don't know if she ever actually put her face in and saw a shark, but she swam with them and has the certificate to prove it!!!

The following pics are not of us.  I just found them online so you can see what the tank looked like.

We left the water park about 6:30pm and went to Downtown Disney.  DD is a great place to hang out, window shop, and see many little attractions.  The best part is it's free.....unless you buy stuff!!!

Our favorite thing is the Pin Store.  It is the central location for buying Disney pins.  Another cool feature is the pin board.  They open the board at random times to trade.  You can only trade 2 pins per day at the board, so you have to pick wisely!  Erin is working on a collection of Princesses (big surprise, I know!!), and found one on the board.

Then....there was the LEGO store.  I had no idea they could make such realistic.....statues....out of LEGOs.  There were places for the kids to play and displays everywhere.  For you Star Wars fans....the Millennium Falcon only goes for $150!!!

Yes...those are all made of LEGOs....Yes....even the one in the water!!  Tomorrow we are off to Disney Hollywood Studios.  I am looking forward to the Star Wars attractions.  Don't worry, I'll have the camera and take pleny of pics.
